Create or participate in a local Shark Savers campaign

Shark Savers was conceived of as a broad-based, grassroots, membership organization. A year and a half into our existance, some of that is still an aspiration. We would like to nurture local efforts. Many shark conservation activities are primarily local: educating people about sharks and the threats to their survival, visiting restaurants that serve shark fin soup, raising funds, convincing marinas to become shark-free, furthering shark conservation legislation, and encouraging others to get involved. And none of this is purely local--we welcome your participation on every level.

If you are interested in participating in or starting a local Shark Savers campaign, or perhaps a local chapter, let us know by filling out the Volunteer form. We will introduce you to others in your area if they have similarly volunteered, or we will ask others in your area if they are interested in joining you. Our role will be to guide, act as a central platform for communication, develop materials, or to assist those who want to take more of a leadership role. As local efforts develop, we will be implementing more community features on this web site to enable more fluid communication and coordination.

interested in joinging campaign
Hi! I'm from the University of Southern California's Calpirg Ocean's campaign and we were interested in including shark preservation in our ocean efforts. I tried to fill out a volunteer form, but the page would not open. So please let me know I can sign up to volunteer and if there are any existing campaigns in LA or Southern California.
Thank you!
Kirsten

Interested in joining a Shark Savers campaign!
Hello. I am very interested in joining one of your Shark Savers campaigns. I have a great interest and passion for shark conservation and public awareness. I am a professional scuba diver working in British Columbia. I have a passion for underwater photography, particularly taking photographs of sharks. I am working towards studying shark biology, behaviour, and conservation efforts.

Best,
Patricia
