SAVE THE SHARKS!!! Do fishermen realize how stupid and selfish they're being? I think people who kill a living thing for money is just down right awful. How would you like it is someone killed you because they wanted money? Sharks are very important. It doesn't give anybody the right to kill amazing creatures who did nothing to you. Sharks have lives, let them live it. Fishermen out there, you will regret what you are doing. It is cruel and unwanted. People, SAVE THE SHARKS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Student This is TERRIBLE!!!! Those poor sharks! I cannot believe they think they have the right to remove those sharks from the waters that they have been in for soo long. They are killing poor innocent little creatures that don't deserve to die that way in such large numbers. I wouldn't be so agianst the fishing if they fished small numbers of sharks and killed them in a humane way instead of just cutting off their fins and throwing their remains in the water to sink and die! Student Shark net's are taking away a valuable life. Although, I'm sure you herd it before, how would you feel being caught and having your fins cut off and then being thrown back into the ocean to your death because you couldn't swim and would drown. This is what happens when sharks are caught and I believe it is absolutely horrendous! |

STOP THE SUFFERING OF SHARKS A teacher introduced me to this site and showed us a presentation. I think that what fishermen are doing to theese sharks is horrible, and should be stopped imediatly. There is no reason to be killing these beautiful animals. The finning is even worse, fisherman put out lines with hooks and kill the sharks. Then they cut off the fins and throw the sharks back in the ocean when they are still alive, their finns are cut off so they can't swim and go right to the bottom of the ocean and died |

Save the Sharks!!! The sharks that are getting stuck in the nets aren't going to get a every long life because of some people that dont care about them. I dont think they realize that some of the sharks that are getting traped are mothers and fathers. If there was a baby shark that's mother got stuck in the net, the baby shark would have a trouble growing up and trying to find food without her. Also sharks are just like people but look different and can breath under water, it is horrible that people don't recogonize that. It is horrible, we need to do something about it. |

Student It is a very upsetting to me to think that 100 million sharks are being taken out of water each year. It is upsetting that they are just using the fins and nothing else. I believe that people should not be able to take sharks and large sums of fish out of the ocean or even any marine life if possible but if nessesary they should not be able to take large sums of marine life. |

Why would we need a shark fin?(the people that buy them.) it's just good to take pictures and you can dive with them! it's better to be with an amazin creature than to know you were part in their "murder." wasting of an aminal except basically one part for money is wrong. Student I am advocating about the saftey of sharks because I believe that sharks deserve their life. The shark nets should be removed in South Africa Because the sharks do not deserve to be killed especially a momma shark. Though sharks do freak me out sometimes I still want them to be safe and have a life. In some ways the sharks do help out in the water by doing many things we may not even know! STOP I cannot beleive the horrible things people have done to sharks! Besides these nets, they have finned these poor creatures and left them to die. Sharks will not hurt you unless you bother them. The conditions so many sharks have to live through are just appaling. How can it be legal to treat sharks so horribly? I used to be afraid of sharks until I learned more about them. Please stop this horrible treatment of sharks. |

You hear all of these things about how abortion is unfair because it is killing little unborn children, and yet it is totally fine to kill sharks? Belgium The nets are of no use to humans, there are huge gaps between the nets so sharks can still go to the beach. On the other hand, the nets also kill turtles, dolphins and numorous other sea creatures. They serve no possitive purpose at all!!! |

Experienced Diver and Enthusiastic Ocean Conservationist. Any method of beach protection that indiscriminately kills ocean life has to be wrong. There are other ways of protecting swimmers and these need to be under urgent consideration by the KZNSB. |

Better ways to get the same results. Don't make all the creatures in the ocean pay because of a small amount of incidents. If there is a few misbehaved kids in a class, you would not take the whole class down to the pool and drown them, would you? There are many well educated people out there to consult as to a better and more selective ways to address your problem. We teach our children to first understand the problems they face, and if they can not come up with a proper solution on their own to ask for help. Please help set an example. Ask the experts who will take the big picture into consideration. |

Diver - Ocean and sealife procector! Please - I urge anyone and everyone inpower to stop this practice. We have one world, beautiful oceans and we are KILLING them all. The ocean is their world, swimmers do not be stupid - I dive and have been immediately next to them - no threat!!!!! If people are so stupid as to not pay attention well... try the pool.
