Dogfish sharks are the second largest of shark orders with 128 species. Dogfish are highly diverse. They include:

Dwarf Lanternshark: smallest of all known sharks at 6 inches

Greenland shark,: the largest dogshark at 21 feet

Portuguese shark: deepest dwelling shark, seen as deep as 12,057 feet deep

Cookie-cutter shark: seduces its prey with its bioluminescence and then scoops out a chunk of its flesh

Spiny Dogfish: probably the most abundant of sharks. Despite its relative abundancy, it is still considered to be vulnerable to extinction because it is routinely over-exploited, is not protected, is late to sexual maturity and of low reproductive capability.
