Swimming with sharks the size of buses and attaching “black box” recorders to their fins must rank among one of the most unenviable tasks in the world.

But a fearless scientist at a Welsh university has made some groundbreaking discoveries thanks to the revolutionary tracking device he developed himself.

Marine biologist Rory Wilson, of Swansea University, has found whale sharks – the world’s largest fish – can execute underwater “flight” moves that would put fighter pilots to shame.
