Sharks are being mercilessly hunted, but as these predators of the deep are ingesting more and more mercury in the world's increasingly polluted oceans, humans stand a chance of being poisoned by mercury.

Andy Cobb, a diver of international repute operating in the world-famous Aliwal Shoal area of KwaZulu-Natal's South Coast, is working tirelessly to bring home this message.

Cobb wants to know why - since South Africa has banned finning of sharks in its Exclusive Economic Zone - it would allow a factory in Cape Town.
