A conservation group is aiming to put international pressure on the Australian government with a petition against proposals to license shark fishing in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

The Queensland, Australia authorities want to establish fishing in protected shark habitats including the Great Barrier Reef.

However, Shark Savers say the proposals offer no firm catch limit to the number of sharks that can be fished.
