Great news report below and this film clip featuring a LARGE great white shark off the north shore of Oahu. Jimmy Hall, who shot the film in December 2005, runs an outfit called Hawaii Shark Adventures. This was the first and only white shark he's seen there.

As you'll see, he filmed much of the encounter outside his dive cage, and petted the 18-foot-plus shark as she swam by him. (Kids, don't try this at home!) Like Rob Stewart in his film, Sharkwater, Jimmy has only good things to say about sharks -- even ones with fearsome reputations.
