Angela Smith

angelaSmith.jpgAngela grew up on the coast of Maine and has traveled extensively, working on sail and power yachts in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Western Asia and South America. She is a certified PADI/SSI diver, passionate conservationist and shark advocate. Angela has spearheaded fundraising events for The Nature Conservancy, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The September 11th Telethon Fund, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, and Island Resources Foundation’s Biodiversity Conservation Program Eastern Caribbean, to name a few.  She also contributes photography regularly for sea turtle research.

Angela’s professional experience is in multimedia, film, broadcast and communications. While at Propaganda Films in Los Angeles she was a producer working on projects for clients like CBS, NBC, Touchstone Pictures and Universal Pictures. Later, she joined The Metropolis Group New York as Director of New Business Development and Crush Digital as Managing Director in their New York City office. At these positions she worked with clients such as the Guggenheim Museum, Warner Brothers Records, Sony Music Entertainment, PBS and Land Rover to produce original DVD content.

Currently Angela is a business development consultant working with media and technology companies. She specializes in navigating Fortune 500 business structures and generating revenue in new markets.

As a Shark Savers’ Volunteer Fundraising Event Organizer, Angela raises awareness and contributes to shark outreach by forging relationships with sponsors, media outlets, businesses and the arts community. She recently helped organize The Florida Shark Party and is currently coordinating a series of events called “Art for Shark’s Sake”.  Angela’s top clients are now the sharks.
